Bihar Aadhaar Authentication Framework (BAAF) has been conferred with the prestigious 35th Technology Sabha Awards 2024 in the category of Enterprise Applications to the Department of Information Technology, Bihar. This event was held on 1st, 2nd & 3rd March 2024 at The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata in the presence of Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY GOI (Govt. of India), G V L Satya Kumar, Managing Director, Centre for Railway Information Systems, GOI (Govt. of India) and Pratap Singh, Principal Commissioner Income Tax, Gurugram, GOI.
Technology Sabha has been able to gather key Government ICT practitioners and decision-makers, under one roof, as they work towards creating a more transparent and efficient governance mechanism.
The “Bihar Aadhaar Authentication Framework (BAAF)” is an Enterprise Application of the Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar that addresses challenges in identifying genuine beneficiaries for government schemes by leveraging Aadhaar authentication whose tech grounds were implemented by CSM Technologies. The framework employs secure leased line connectivity to UIDAI standards and specifications, enhancing data privacy and efficiency. It has completed 46 crores plus authentication of the beneficiaries in 5 years in 11 departments/ Sub AUA (Aadhaar Authentication Agency) of the state availing benefits of more than 45 crores transactions by the department. It plays a pivotal role in improving the integrity of welfare programs, promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen trust in government service delivery.
