The Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare (FSCW) Department of Odisha, has been honored with the prestigious Skoch Award for its groundbreaking Paddy Procurement Automation System. This accolade highlights the department's dedication to utilizing advanced technology to drive significant improvements in public systems.
The Skoch Award, one of India’s most esteemed recognitions in governance and technology, celebrates the transformative impact of CSM Tech’s Paddy Procurement Automation System. Developed in partnership with the FSCW Department, this system has redefined the paddy procurement process, ensuring enhanced transparency, efficiency, and fairness for farmers throughout the region. In the Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2023-24 alone, the system enabled the procurement of approximately 79.16 LMT of paddy from 17.10 lakh farmers across 40,443 villages in the State.
The system has significantly improved the procurement process by 25% compared to the previous KMS. Farmers now experience faster payments within just 2 days, reduced administrative delays due to centralized monitoring, and increased transparency. This innovation has not only streamlined operations but also reduced errors and strengthened the trust between the farming community and government agencies.
This award underscores CSM Tech's commitment to leveraging technology to create meaningful change and improve lives. CSM Tech is proud to contribute to the agricultural sector and looks forward to continuing its efforts in developing impactful digital solutions.
