Congratulations!! to all the winners of IITM team Raftar, sponsored by Digi Key as it won the 1st prize in the engineering design event under the Electric Category at Formula Bharat 2024, Coimbatore.
The Formula Bharat is an Indian Formula Student-style engineering design competition in which students from colleges and universities all over the country, compete with a life-size formula-style vehicle in areas of engineering design, overall cost, marketability, and dynamic performance. The Formula Bharat 2024 competition was started at Kari Motor Speedway from January 19 – 24, 2024. The Formula Bharat competition is divided into 2 categories – Static and Dynamic – which account for a total of 1000 points.
The purpose of this competition is to encourage students to gain hands-on practical experience, while applying engineering theories studied in the classroom.
The challenge to the student team is to design and fabricate a prototype vehicle that best meets the goals and intents as stated in the Rules Book. These student teams are required to build a new vehicle from scratch year after year and seek sponsorship and donations by their means to fund the project. Keeping to that credo, CSM Tech has inked an MoU with IIT Madras in August 2023 to power the ambitious dream of developing a disruptive racecar named ‘Raftar’ underpinned by indigenous capabilities.
CSM has been a strong votary of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat as these Government initiatives are aimed at creating and nurturing a virtuous cycle of growth, innovation, and self-reliance.
