Tea is one of East Africa’s most vital export commodities, with Kenya alone contributing over 22% of global tea exports. The Mombasa Tea Auction, operated by the East African Tea Traders Association (EATTA), is the world’s largest black tea auction hub, supporting livelihoods of over 6 million people. However, the auction ecosystem relied on manual, opaque, and time-consuming processes.<div>CSM Tech implemented the Integrated Tea Trading System (ITTS) in partnership with Eastern Software Systems Africa to digitize end-to-end tea trade operations, transitioning the auction model from open outcry to real-time electronic auctions and enabling efficient, transparent, and scalable tea trading across East Africa. </div>
